Recycling can help save money

We even agree to waive the removal fee for customers who decide to have us haul the old equipment out for them because we know that we will make a sizable amount on turning the old junk in for cash

This time of year we are very busy at work. Many of the customers we have are looking to tune up or replace their HVAC system before the winter weather sets in and our technicians are working overtime to service those accounts. One disadvantage of this time of year is the amount of money that we have to pay upfront to have inventory on hand to handle those requests. We spend the money each year and hope that we make the sales to make up for it quickly. If we don’t then it could really affect our bottom line at the end of the year. We did find one way to make a bit of extra money and help with that too. When we replace an aging system with a new one we have to remove all of the cumbersome pieces and they tend to weigh a lot more than the newer more efficient ones. Most of the components are made of metal and can be taken to the local junk yard for recycling. The going rate for recycled metal is quite good so it is like found money of sorts. We even agree to waive the removal fee for customers who decide to have us haul the old equipment out for them because we know that we will make a sizable amount on turning the old junk in for cash. If we are removing an air conditioning unit we have to clear it of any coolant before recycling it but we have trained technicians on staff that can handle that too.
