I remember dad saying that you never had perfect lighting if you married an electrician, but he never said anything about HVAC technicians.
I assumed they were the same way, and I was positive they were, after this past weekend.
My husband had been an HVAC technician for the last ten years, but he was quite neglectful when it came to our home. He changed the air filters, but then he showed our son how to change the air filters so he wasn’t wasting a lot of time he could put into his job. Last year, he showed our son how to do the servicing on the air conditioning unit. He wanted to try and see if our son was interested in being an HVAC technician, and he thought the best idea was to let him do the job. My son told me he didn’t want to work on the air conditioning. He thought his dad would get upset if he made a mess of the job. I knew he was probably right, but I couldn’t tell him that. I asked if he did the servicing on the air conditioning unit, and he said he did the best he could. This morning I woke up, and there was no heat in the house. I called the HVAC company where my husband worked, and hoped he would answer the phone. Instead, I got the owner of the HVAC company and told him our furnace was broken. He said that as soon as my husband got in, he would send him home. His first priority was to his own HvAC equipment and not to someone else.
