Installing fence can be quite expensive

Because of the size of my dad’s backyard, I don’t see him spending that money to have it fenced in

My dad’s house doesn’t have fencing around it. His neighbors to the right have partial fencing in their backyard. There is a blanket of trees at the back of my dad’s house so you can’t see the neighbors who live behind it. The trees provide some level of privacy for the back of the house, but the left side of the yard is wide open. I don’t believe my dad wants to install fences and I think the main reason is that fencing is very expensive. And depending on the size of your yard and the fence that you choose, it could cost a homeowner a lot of money. The cheapest type of fencing is wired fences and there are a few types like barbed wire, chicken, woven wire, and more. The cost for these fences will run a homeowner between $1 to $5 per linear foot. While wired fences are not aesthetically beautiful, the chain link fence is more suitable for a home. In addition, vinyl fences are really popular as well as bamboo fences, and all these fences are in the mid-level price range. But if you would like to splurge, opt for aluminum, wooden fences, or wrought iron fences. These fences can cost between $10 to $40 per linear foot. Because of the size of my dad’s backyard, I don’t see him spending that money to have it fenced in. Of course, there is no real privacy on the left side of the yard, but thankfully the lot on that property is huge so it’s not so bad not having it fenced in.
