I didn’t want to drive without a heater

My best friend and I have been inseparable since we were little youngsters.

We grew up in houses right next to each other and did absolutely everything together, and everything changed when her dad got a new task and her family moved far away to another state.

Now that I can drive, my dad lets me visit her every so often. I decided to take a weekend trip to her family’s home in the woods during the winter. This is the time that I learned what a heating tune up is. As I was on our way up the mountain, our furnace completely stopped toiling in our car. I pulled over and restarted the car to see if I could jumpstart the heater, but nothing seemed to change. There was barely any air pushing out of the air vent, so I knew that something must have been really wrong. I was kind of concerned about driving the car without the furnace on because I felt like my hands would freeze to the steering wheel the higher I went up the mountain. I called my friend and told her that my furnace had broken and she asked her dad to meet us and see if she could fix it or supply us a tow. I was pretty sure that he would be rolling his eyes at the fact that I didn’t want to drive without the heater, although he was happy to pick me up! Once we got to their home, he popped open our hood and went to work on our furnace so that I didn’t have to worry about it on our way back home, but he advised that next time I travel to a really cold location, I get a heating tune up in my car.
