Most of the people that work in our office will be hating myself and others a bit when they come in on Tuesday afternoon. However, there will be others who will be quite pleased that I finally diagnosed a long overdue issue. There is an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C tech coming to meet myself and others at 6:30 pm on Thursday. My firm is a small advertising dealer plus I employ about 20 or so people. Our office section is particularly a converted 50 year aged retail building. Every one of us occupy the top floor of this building. There is plenty of room for people to work, collaborate plus be creative. It’s particularly a cool space. However, there is only one Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C control equipment on our floor. This has been a big problem over the years. There are groups of people that are particularly pitted against each other over the temperature setting. It has now almost come to blows plus I have decided that enough is enough. This coupled with the fact that the energy costs are going through the roof with all the yanking of the control unit. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C costs are spiralling out of control. So, the time seemed right to end this issue. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C tech plus I are going to sneak back onto our floor Thursday to rip out that control unit. He will then replace it with a state of the art smart control unit. No more forgetting to turn off the cooling system over the weekend. No more walking out of the office with the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C blasting. No more outright war over the control equipment setting. The smart control equipment will learn our patterns plus I’m the only one with the override code!
