I wasn’t able to convince my neighbor that bee extermination is wrong

My neighbor and I have been involved in this ongoing debate for a number of years! We both run our own businesses, and at the start the two of us considered each other to be the enemy.

  • After all the two of us were in direct competition with one another, fighting for the same contracts, so there definitely was bad blood.

Eventually the two of us came to realize that the two of us were too much alike to not be actual friends, so the two of us started socializing and eventually even worked together on various projects… Such fraternization has entirely helped out both of our businesses, strangely enough, because it turns out this region is large enough for a bee removal business and also a bee extermination business! Of course, my neighbor provides extermination of any kind of pests and insects, but I actually work exclusively with bees, and I try not to harm them in the least! I have connections with all kinds of bee farms, who are often actively seeking bees and willing to pay plenty of cash for them. Especially if I am able to collect a queen bee, I assume I can sell that extremely easily. My neighbor never even tried removal, he exterminated pretty much everything, every time, and that caused our huge disagreement. Eventually I was able to change his mind not on ethical or moral ground, however just on the cash to be made with offering bee removal services. Occasionally he could make a little more cash with extermination, however when he was under the impression he could do a little better with removal he would refer the task to me and take a finder’s fee. This bee relationship is proving to be profitable for both of our businesses.
