My teenagers have been talking about Halloween for the last month.

They are finally at an age where they can go trick or treating with their friends and they have made their own costumes too… Hanging with their friends, instead of walking around with mom and dad, is the “cool” thing to do now.

I did offer to tag along behind them to make sure that they will be safe but the proinspected about that too, it is a little bittersweet because I will miss seeing them go door to door in their little costumes and being scared of some of the displays. Some of the other moms are coming over to hand out candy with me and drink wine, I feel that will help to ease my aching heart. Having your teenagers become more independent has some advantages especially when it comes to my comfort, however as the evening approached, the weather forecast was grim. They were calling for wet snow and wind! My associate and I have had Halloweens like that before and it was always miserable walking around. I feel that was the greatest perk of staying home. I could kneel in my heated and dry house while the teenagers ran around in the cold. My Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C system would have my friends and I toasty and when the teenagers finally came home, soaking wet and cold, they would be able to overheated up hastily too. They told me that I should have left it on while I was gone to avoid the problem although I didn’t know that! Lesson learned!

It has been definitely tense around my house this past few weeks.

Normally, I don’t try and tell my partner what to do when it comes to house maintenance, despite the fact that I just couldn’t stay silent anymore.

I have always been in charge of shopping, cooking, and paying the bills. Since my partner is miserable with me over questioning his ability, I suppose I will call and have a repair serviceman come check things out while he is at work. At least then my friend and I will have peace of mind and my partner will still suppose that he was the reason my friend and I had heat all winter. I would much rather spend my savings a professional to do things than waste money “trying” to make something labor better.
