Since my husband is angry with me over questioning his ability, I think I will call and have a service technician come check things out while he is at work
It has been really tense around my house this past few weeks. Normally, I don’t try and tell my husband what to do when it comes to home maintenance, but I just couldn’t stay silent anymore. I have always been in charge of shopping, cooking, and paying the bills. For this reason, when I kept getting invoices from our HVAC dealer I started to question what was going on. They all seemed to be for parts for the furnace but none of them were for a service call. I didn’t understand why he would need to purchase parts for the furnace, when as far as I knew, nothing was wrong with it to begin with. When I asked my husband about the situation, he told me that he knew what he was doing. He said that he wanted to upgrade some of the filters, wires, and other parts so that we wouldn’t lose heat during the winter. Now, my husband is an accountant by trade and really has no idea how to wire anything. Now, I think I will be worried each time I turn on the heat that it may cause a fire or something. At least then I will have peace of mind and my husband will still think that he was the reason we had heat all winter. I would much rather pay a professional to do things than waste money “trying” to make something work better.
