We set up Portable Shower Containers in our backyard.

I know it isn’t something everyone would think to do, but our kids had been practicing for the mud run.

The mud run is a four-mile obstacle course, and every obstacle contains large amounts of mud.

I didn’t turn my backyard into a mud pit, but we did set up an obstacle course for the kids. They got very dirty, and I didn’t want it tracked into my house. When their friends joined them, I knew it was time to do something else. We ordered a portable shower container, and set it up in the backyard. It was fun to watch the kids crawl through pipes, over and under cargo nets, and slide up and down large sliding boards. They landed in some mud my husband set up with sand and water in those cheap baby pools. When they were done, they got to go into the portable shower container, and take a shower with their clothes on. This caused even more mud when they started doing the obstacle course again. It seemed they liked using the portable shower container before they used the obstacle course, and also using the portable shower container after. I’m not sure my backyard will ever be the same again, but the kids had a grand time, and two of them came in the top five of the mud run. My husband seems to think we should keep the obstacle course all year round. There would be plenty of mud when‌ the snow melts, or it rains, but I wasn’t going to rent a portable shower container for six months a year.
