We had an inspection performed on the home before we made our final offer.
The electrical corporation did not find any large concerns with the property and that was the final go ahead to make our offer. We did run into some electrical concerns after we purchased the house, one concern that we noticed instantly was the fact that an outlet in the kitchen did not seem to work at all. I plugged in lots of weird types of appliances to the outlet and none of them had power, but every other outlet in the living space worked just fine. In fact, all of the other outlets in the home seem to work except this one outlet. I removed the outlet cover and looked at the wiring plus it seemed to be set up in the respected manner, but since I’m not a licensed electrician, I thought it might be better to call someone who is. The licensed electrician plus repair repair provider came to my home to look at the problem. The guy thought it was actually weird that the outlet appeared to be wired to the house, because there was no power to the outlet. He needed permission to remove space from the wall in order to access the rest of the wiring. I agreed to let the guy break a hole as an access and repair panel next to the problematic area. The wires that were connected to the outlet were not connected to the electricity plus the house. It was absolutely an actually straight-forward concern to fix, but even the residential electrician had no idea why someone chose to make it look like it was wired when it clearly wasn’t.
