My wife and I have been saving for our honeymoon for the last five years. We have been married for over twenty-five years and we have never had a honeymoon. First kids, then school, college and our home, all got in the way. Once our kids started getting out of the house, we knew we wanted to plan for our honeymoon. We actively began to find ways to quickly add money to our savings so we could do what we wanted. We began looking at the HvAC system to see if there were any savings we could make there. The HVAC company told us that we could save some money on our energy bills, but we would have to make an initial investment. We just had a new energy efficient furnace and air conditioning unit installed into our home. We thought this would save us money on our energy bills. Now he was telling us that we should have changed our thermostat. I wish they had told us that when we had the HVAC system installed. I may have been able to talk them into throwing the thermostat in for free. I had the Smart Thermostat installed. I was impressed with everything the new thermostat was able to do, but I couldn’t see how it was going to save us any more money. We had more even temperatures in the house and I didn’t need to remember to adjust the thermostat before going to work. My wife is beginning to think that we should tell everyone we aren’t home and just stay home.
