I never realized how much I enjoy air conditioning until I went on a trip to South America for a month.
It was a missions trip that our church was taking, and I had always wanted to go on a missions trip, so I was super excited.
My husband wanted to go with us too, but unfortunately, he was not able to get off of work to go along. I was determined to have a wonderful time and to help as many people as I possibly could. The trip was absolutely amazing. We got to set up a couple of medical facilities and help so many people. I would do it again in a heartbeat. One thing that I did not realize that I would miss so much was air conditioning. It was super hot there. It was in the hundreds during the day, and in the eighties at night. I do not think that I slept well until like the second or third week that we were there, and that was because by that time, I was completely and utterly exhausted. I can remember talking to my husband each night and just telling him how much I missed the air conditioner in our bedroom. He laughed and said that I seemed to miss the air conditioner more than him since I mentioned it so much. When I finally got home, I was super excited to sleep in an air conditioned room. To my surprise, I was freezing, and I could hardly sleep. It is so funny how quickly our bodies can adjust to new climates. I am used to my air conditioner again since it has been three months since that trip.
