Telling grandma about real world problems – you can live in FL

When people talk about having amazing families, I don’t know how to relate.

I truly love and respect my mom and brother, but outside of that I don’t have much to do with the rest of the family.

My aunts and uncles have never been close to me, and they have a bit of a pretentious aire about them. My grandma is no better, and she has the added handicap of being inexperienced in the world coupled with extreme egotism. She’s never had to work a day in her life and has no idea how the real world works. However, that doesn’t stop her from trying to tell you exactly how you should live your life and all of the ways that it should be much easier for you. Recently, I was talking to her about my difficulties paying for my energy bill. For the past year I’ve seen the energy bill increase in consistently each month, and I’m quite certain that it’s related to my faulty Heating and Cooling equipment. I’ve already had to call the HVAC technician out to inspect and repair my forced air furnace and central cooling system several times, but they are never able to fully fix the air quality equipment. Now, it’s looking more and more like I’ll have to invest in a full HVAC upgrade just to survive the winter. I was trying to tell my grandma about my financial woes and ventilation difficulties, when she interrupted me rudely to tell me that I was stressing her out. There was no sense in being worried about energy bills or finances. She said I didn’t need to stress about my heat if I simply packed up my life and moved to Florida the way she did.
