Planning around the weather

For the past year I’ve been trying to live a more holistic life.

I don’t think that it was ever a big concern of mine in the past, and I probably made fun of people who said similar things many times in my life.

However, in the past few years I’ve realized that it makes no sense to try to fight Mother Nature. You might as well appreciate the ebbs and flows of the universe, and try to run your life in conjunction with the Earth Cycles. Yeah, I’ve gotten into some real hippie shit. In short, I have stopped trying to live such an unnatural life that requires modern technology to make it work. I’m no longer trying to stay up all night long, trying to stay tan throughout the winter season, or trying to keep my hair perfect in the middle of summer humidity. Instead, I’ve decided to hand over control to the world. When I wake up in the morning and it’s freezing cold, I stay in bed instead of forcing my central heating system to artificially warm up the house. If I want to work out in the middle of the day but it’s too hot, I don’t make the air conditioner run over time to create artificially cool and expensive indoor air. In fact, I’ve even considered removing my central heating and cooling system entirely. I’m becoming interested in naturally sourcing my ventilation through open windows instead of trying to trap and conquer high quality indoor air. Long story short, my life has gotten much easier and cheaper since I’ve stopped trying to fight mother nature and handed HVAC control over to the world.
