My husband decided that he wasn’t going to allow anyone to work on ur heating or air conditioning. He said he was so tired of getting ripped off by the HVAC company that he was going to learn how to do it himself. I know that my husband is a smart man and he was probably able to do what needs to be done. I just didn’t know if our furnace was going to last long enough for him to learn how to fix the furnace. He started looking for different local schools that offered certification classes in HVAC. I’m not saying my husband too old to go back to school, but I knew that at sixty-two, he was at retirement age and not a learning age. When he went to sign up for the HVAC class, the instructor tried to talk him out of going to school. They even told him that he didn’t really have a lot of time to work and get his tuition back. The instructor was our sons age and that was also going to be a detriment to his succeeding. We talked a lot about his going to school and he insisted he could do it. He had to do a lot of studying, but eventually he not only graduated, but he also graduated at the top of his class. When our furnace finally went out, he was able to purchase and install the new furnace. He told me he had finally found out what it takes to fix a furnace and he did it.
