Beware the HVAC Autocrat!

And anyone caught leaving a door open for longer than it takes to enter of exit the house will be forced to walk the plank

I can spot the utility bill in about .6 seconds after opening the mailbox. It’s the fat one, the envelope which looks really expensive. I hate this envelope on a good day. But when it’s a hundred degrees outside, I know that bill is going to cause pain. I get it. We all pay for cooling when it’s hot outside. But, I’m tired of the escalating costs of HVAC. I have decided that the land of HVAC democracy in my home is over. There is no Marshall Law in my home over a/c use and practice. And I am the Autocrat who is claiming full and total authority. The days of just slapping around the thermostat are now over. I have full control and will enact a series of sweeping changes regarding our household’s use of the cooling system. First, I have installed a smart thermostat to manage our HVAC usage. The smart thermostat will learn our patterns then cool our house accordingly. I will be the sole holder of the manual mode code. The smart thermostat will also be linked into the automatic shades. This will enable the shades to be controlled centrally to mitigate like 90 percent of the direct sun heating. The air filter will be changed every month to provide more efficiency. And anyone caught leaving a door open for longer than it takes to enter of exit the house will be forced to walk the plank. Alright, that is a bit too far. But only because our house isn’t a boat. Respect my HVAC authority!
