Recently I went with an old acquaintance of mine to a large convention for his task.
He works as an Heating and A/C worker, and I only went to this particular convention because he had been saying there would be good free food and a live concert at the end. I am a sucker for anything free! I am ecstatic I went with him, because I gained a great deal of energy saving tips that I never would have thought about… Climate control was of course a big topic while I was at the convention, bexause they were talking about new technologies that work much better than central air. The idea was that if you can legitimately efficiently heat the room that you are in, and then have it stop efficiently once you leave, and you can save a lot of energy and currency. You can achieve this with a smart thermostat, that can be set up to heat or cool certain rooms at certain times. The main focus of the event was on HVAC ducts, smart thermostats, and efficient AC units. There were demonstrations on new ways to do ductwork cleaning, how to install new AC units, and how to replace air filters in new models. The free food was excellent, and I also talked to an Heating and A/C provider that told myself and others he is very interested in testing out new products for free on clients homes, however like I said before, anything that is free excites me, so I agreed to let him install a beta smart thermostat and see how much it can accomplish! The world of Heating and A/C can be pretty exciting, I never thought about how cool air conditioners are.
