It is an established fact that a fantastic education gives a single a much better chance of doing well in life, however yet, based on what I have noticed, it is as though this fact has escaped the notice of the authorities holding the purse strings. With their level of education, they ought to think that children require facilities which are conducive to reading, to be able to do their best. Apparently, they do not.
My son is a bright enough kid, certainly above average where his school work is worried. For weeks now his work has been declining & he tries to find every possible excuse to skip school. This is not normal behaviour for him so I contacted his school. It turns out that their Heating as well as Air Conditioning unit has quit. It had been on its last leg for ages & had finally croaked. There is no Heating as well as Air Conditioning back-up system so mobile fans were being used to cool the classrooms. Though they may have made a slight difference, no way could a single or more than one little fans supply the air quality that a functioning Heating as well as Air Conditioning plan can. There aren’t even ceiling fans in the classrooms, so the boys are not too comfortable.
A special P.T.A. meeting was called to discuss the matter, & almost every parent turned up. Several suggestions were aired, but the most popular a single seemed to be that each parent contribute a certain amount of money, which would go towards replacing the seasoned Heating as well as Air Conditioning unit. I think a single parent who is certainly unwilling to be involved in that. What about the taxes I pay? What is it used for?
