Very efficient air conditioning

That is pretty much about all I need today for happiness as it is too tepid outside to do anything.

It won’t cool off out there till approximately 8pm tonight so I am planning on grabbing my book plus resting in my office with my little room air conditioning system plus learning for the course of the afternoon.

I’ll venture outside later once the heat subsides plus go take it easy by the beach plus check out my buddies playing ball. I can’t play today as my body is legitimately sore plus sleepy from training numerous groups of youngsters for so many evenings. My Heating plus Air Conditioning dealer where I labor had an anniversary party for the owner’s kid plus it took a tremendous amount of energy out of me. Then the following evening I had to train different youngsters plus that pretty much did me in. So today I am going to stay in my climate controlled flat plus just relax with a fantastic book plus some quiet piano tunes. I enjoy reading plus I have a good book so today is going to be one of those mornings where I just take it straight-forward at my home with my kittens plus just prefer being alive. I love to escape into the stories that books offer because it feels basically like I am traveling to another dimension if only for a while. I also have a book on the Heating plus Air Conditioning industry that I want to read, however it isn’t quite as fun to read as my fictional book I am learning now. I will save the Heating plus Air Conditioning book for another time.

Today I have to get my HVAC system tuned up and then I am going to teach a volleyball class to 20 kids on the beach later.

I need to rest for the next few hours because those kids are going to take a lot of my energy.

I’m teaching them for an hour and then setting them loose on my net to play the rest of the evening. I have to focus on my HVAC system first though because the HVAC rep is coming by today to tune it up. I haven’t had any work done to it for a long time and thought that today would be a good day to get it done as a lot of people are away on vacation and the businesses here are all quite slow. A lot of the local businesses shut down for the month of August to go on vacation with their families so this is a good time to get things done as the HVAC company is still open and pretty slow right now. I had them tune my system up a few years ago and I noticed that it is making some funny sounds that it didn’t make before and it isn’t cooling like it once was. I guess it gets dirty and out of tune, like a guitar, so hopefully the tune up will help it to run more efficiently and save me some cash. I will get this out of the way and then I will rest and meditate for the rest of the afternoon before teaching on the beach.

Time is such a mysterious concept isn’t it? I keep trying to wrap my mind around what is actually happening over the years with time’s passing but it just doesn’t quite add up. I feel like I’ve lived ten lives already with all that I have done in my life, yet I also feel like I could do so much more. I think fear has been the thing holding me back from living a fuller life so I am trying to push myself to do that which scares me. I got a job at the heating and cooling company near me because of pushing against the fear of trying something new. I had a little experience in the HVAC industry before getting the job but felt like it wasn’t enough to land me the job in this highly competitive job market in our town. A lot of people here don’t have any jobs and some of my friends in their 40’s still live with their parents. I am lucky to have the job at the HVAC company and try to do my best each day I am there. I work about twenty hours a week there and it is just enough to pay my rent. Then I teach some yoga and volleyball to cover my food costs each month. I don’t have a lot of money but the money I make from the HVAC business has helped me out a lot over the past year as I now live alone and have more expenses in this flat since losing my girlfriend in a breakup.

I think I will ask the HVAC rep if we have any good smart thermostats that I could buy for my mom for her birthday

My mom never had a HEPA filter in her AC unit so now I am going to send her a washable HEPA and a card for her birthday. I can’t believe my young mom has turned 75 years old. I can still remember her being in her 20’s as she had me when she was just 18. Now it is over 50 years later and my mom has grown old. We are all getting older and I am trying to enjoy this ride more and more each year and not worry about stuff so much. The HVAC corporation where I work has many HEPA filters and I know the size of my mom’s disposable filters so I am going to grab one for her for her big birthday so that they have cleaner air in her house and don’t have to throw away any more filters. I bet she has tossed out 100 disposable filters over the years so it is high time to get her one that can be used over and over again. I think this washable HEPA filter will last her a long time and it may be the last filter she will ever need. I hope momma stays in my life another 20 years so that I can make up for all of the lost years of birthday cards that never were sent to her, poor momma I love you so much. I think I will ask the HVAC rep if we have any good smart thermostats that I could buy for my mom for her birthday. That would go well with the HEPA filter I’m sending her.

I finally got my momma a birthday card for her 75th birthday after all of these years.

I live overseas and normally send her an electronic bday card and give her a phone call, but this time I want to send her a real card and show her how much I care about her.

I feel bad for never sending her a card but at least I am going to do it this time. I’m just not good at the card mailing stuff but this time I am going to make it a priority. I manage to clean my HEPA filter when it is dirty but for some reason can’t mail a card when it is time. It really comes down to laziness, which I am apparently guilty of over many years, but now feel an overwhelming desire to send her a card this time. Mom worked in the HVAC industry and taught me a lot about it and she has been such a loving and wonderful mom that I want her to know it on this big birthday she has coming up. She won’t be around forever and one day I’ll wish I had one more chance to mail that card. I work here at the local HVAC company during the week and have a lot of time to mail cards and show people I care about them. I guess I am seeing that life is passing by the older I get and it becomes a bit more special in these later years. Maybe I’ll send her a HEPA filter as a gift!

I want to get one of those programmable smart thermostats because I am always having to get up to adjust the temperature on mine as it is a manual type thermostat from the olden days and needs my constant attention. I bet I adjust the darn thing 20 times each day and it is high time I get with the times and buy a new one. The new smart thermostats basically run the HVAC system for you, all you have to do is program it once and it will take it from there. It also tells you when to clean your filter, which is nice for people like me who tend to forget to do it quite often. I will take a stroll down to the HVAC company which sells them to see how much they cost and which one is the best one to buy. If they don’t sell them there then I will have to go online and do some digging. I like to buy locally but if it isn’t possible then I will just get one online. I also need to go to the local business today to buy a birthday card for my mom as her birthday is in two weeks and it takes about that long for it to arrive in the states from overseas. I don’t know if I have ever sent my mom a birthday card and this will be her 75th birthday and I want to give her a big surprise. I’ll go do that and then head to the HVAC company to see what they got.

There are just some stuff in our lives that we have to do whatever it takes when it comes to maintaining them. Whether it’s a treasured relationship or something as everyday as the HVAC equipment, some stuff is just really important. I’m a big fan of taking care of the things that take care of me. I think more of that is a good thing when it comes to living our lives. I know that I sometimes struggle with figuring out just how to do what needs to be done and still pay for it all. I think we are all able to relate to that bit of reality. I spend a lot of my life inside an office with zone controlled HVAC in order to be able to pay for the stuff in my life. And believe me, providing for myself and my family are so very important to me indeed. So, that means I spend a fair amount of time trying to rein in our spending in order to be sure that we are putting our money into stuff with value. One place that is easy to make that move is the HVAC service plan. Our HVAC company offers an HVAC service plan that allows for heating maintenance in the fall and an air conditioning tune up in the spring. And, if there is ever any sort of breakdown, the HVAC company won’t charge an HVAC service charge for the repair. All I pay for is the parts. So while I could maybe use that money somewhere else in the budget, I know that I’m taking care of the HVAC equipment which is taking care of me.

Before all of this construction started on my side of town, I enjoyed peace and quiet most days, as the road noise was minimal since we are in a neighborhood without any thru-streets for city traffic. As such, I would sit outside for hours of my workday with my laptop so I wasn’t forced to work from inside the house. But all of this constant home construction in the area has changed that. First of all, the noise is unbearable. I hear circular saws and nail guns at 7am every single morning. It’s a near-constant barrage of noise until the workmen leave their posts between 5 and 6pm every evening. That’s when I finally feel at ease again, especially since I work from home and don’t get to escape from the chaos like someone working out of the home would. I used to keep my windows open throughout the daytime and nighttime hours; in fact, I used to take this for granted going back to my early childhood because my parents did the exact same thing. They didn’t run the HVAC system constantly, and instead relied heavily on the cool breezes coming in from outdoors. But since all of this construction started, it has done nothing but put constant heaps of dust and dirt into the air. I see it collecting on indoor surfaces in a matter of hours if I’ve left the front door open too much coming in and out with groceries for instance. How do you stay on top of this much dust? And since I’m running the air conditioner more with the windows shut, a lot of the dust gets collected in my a/c filter. That means replacing the filters a lot more frequently.

I was lucky to live in a neighborhood with a number of kids the same age when I was in elementary school.

• Instead of staying at home and watching TV and playing video games all day, we all got together and played games outdoors most days when the weather would permit.

My favorite was street hockey and soccer, in part because one of my friends was a junior hockey player for a local league and played as often as he could. He would put the nets up for us to play and I was the goaltender more often than not, a role I enjoyed greatly. It was nice that I found a role in sports that I was actually good at. There was this extremely religious family that lived across the street from him and they had a bunch of kids around our age. We played with them a lot too outdoors, but there were days when it was raining or there was a heat advisory and we needed to be indoors. My mother and grandmother always had the air conditioner running, and the same was true from my hockey player friend’s parents. But the religious family down the street didn’t even use their air conditioner. The parents “didn’t believe in air conditioning” and instead would open their windows and turn on a few fans. Sometimes we’d go to their house to play Mario Kart on their Nintendo 64. It got uncomfortably hot in their house with no air conditioner running. I usually made excuses not to go inside their home for more than a few minutes at a time. It just wasn’t comfortable there.
