My fiance made the choice that he wasn’t going to allow anyone to do work on our heating or air conditioning appliance.
He said he was so mad at getting ripped off by the HVAC company that he was going to learn how to do it all on his own.
I know that my fiance is a smart guy and he was really able to do what needs to be done. I just didn’t know if our oil furnace was going to last long enough for him to learn how to repair the ancient oil furnace. He started looking for all kinds of local universities that offer certification classes in HVAC appliance repair. I’m not saying my fiance too aged to go back to university, although I knew that at his age, he was at retirement age and not a normal learning age. When he went to sign up for the HVAC appliance class, the teacher tried to talk him out of going to university. They even told him that he didn’t truly have a great deal of time to get a good job and get his tuition back. The teacher was the same age as my son and that was also going to be a detriment to his succeeding. Both of us had plenty of talks about his going to university and he insisted he could do it. He had to do a great deal of studying, however eventually he not only graduated, but he also graduated at the top of his class. When our oil furnace finally broke down entirely, he was able to purchase and install the new oil furnace with no trouble. He told myself and others he had finally figured out what it takes to repair an oil furnace and he really did it.
