Life has changed a lot since I was a little girl.
- I am fifty-five years old next week, and I have been reminiscing on my childhood.
I had a wonderful childhood, but I did not have half the things that children today have. It may sound crazy to my grandchildren, but I never watched TV or played video games. Many of the things that children do today were not even an option when I was a child. I honestly am glad that I did not have those things because I spent most of my days outside and with my friends. There is just one thing that I wish that I would have had as a child and that is air conditioning. No one I knew had air conditioning in their house. It was not something that the common person could afford I guess. I am so thankful that we have air conditioning now. I have two window units in my house, and that is good for me. It keeps my house around seventy degrees, and I love it. I can remember nights as a little girl that I could not sleep in my room because it was just too warm. I would usually end up sleeping outside under the stars because it was so hot in our house. I am glad that I do not have to do that anymore. Not only would it look ridiculous as a fifty-five year old lady for me to sleep outside, but it would also be very uncomfortable. Air conditioning is a modern convenience that I am super thankful for.
