Sometimes I think my house might be haunted because of all the slamming doors

If I watch scary movies, then the creepy thoughts stay with me for days or even weeks.

  • I’m just one of those people who is susceptible to being scared easily, I guess.

I don’t do well if I read scary novels or watch scary shows or even if I hear a ghost story around a campfire! I guess you could say that I’m just a chicken. I was seriously thinking about calling some ghost hunters of something because the doors in my house kept creaking open and then slamming shut. But then my friend Alan, who is an HVAC technician, came over for dinner one night. While we were sitting at the table, the door in the dining room slammed shut and I screamed. Alan started laughing and he asked me why I was so scared of the air pressure changes in the house. He explained to me that sometimes when there’s a big rise or drop in air pressure in your house, it can cause your doors to open or close. He said that the air pressure can change because of different things like the temperature of your house or your heating or air conditioning system turning on or off. When I heard that the culprit behind all of my hauntings was probably just my furnace and my central air conditioning system, I was so relieved! Alan checked my HVAC system for me while he was there and he also looked at my thermostat unit. He is positive that my ghost is nothing more than changes in the air pressure in my house.
