Winter arrived especially early this past year. I was not prepared for the sudden cold temperatures and snowfall. I needed to winterize the pool, put away the patio furniture and take care of the lawn mower. I was so busy carrying portable air conditioners up to the attic and making sure all the winter gear was accessible that I forgot all about scheduling maintenance for the furnace. I simply turned up the thermostat to warm up the house. It took me awhile to realize the furnace was running for much longer cycles than normal. Fortunately, the problems were solved by a thorough, professional cleaning. When I admitted to the technician that I’d simply forgotten to call for service, he suggested I enroll in a maintenance plan. The HVAC company will now call me up and remind me it’s time to arrange upkeep for the furnace. I also benefit from priority scheduling and a discount on parts and labor.
