What’s the Trouble?

I was wondering why it was so cold in my house this morning when I got up to go to work.

Usually the thermostat has already started running its regularly scheduled programming.

I always have my heating system set to come on around 6:30 in the morning so that when I go into the bathroom to get showered and ready for the day, I can stand by the heating vents and let the nice warm air blow out on my feet. But this morning I noticed that the furnace wasn’t running when I first got out of bed – and the heating still wasn’t on when I got out of the shower. I wasn’t sure what the issue was, but I did know that I was freezing as I stood there dripping in my towel in the bathroom! I don’t like it when the heating doesn’t run like it’s supposed to! I went into the utility room over by the garage and checked my digital programmable thermostat, but everything on the digital screen looked exactly the way that it always does. I just didn’t understand it. I couldn’t figure it out no matter what I did, and so I finally gave up and got dressed while I was shivering. At least the temperature outside wasn’t as cold as it normally is this time of year. Once I got dressed I started heating up but I never did get warm enough inside the house I had to get in the car and turn the heater all the way on full blast before I stopped feeling cold. I guess I’ll have to call the HVAC company once I get to work.
