I grew up as an only child… My parents always say they didn’t need any other kids because they got the perfect one the first time. I am not entirely sure about that, although I do assume that not having any siblings has undoubtedly influenced me a great deal as far as my own personal boundaries go. I just don’t care for any other people touching my stuff, however this is especially the case when it comes to particular things in my household, such as my heating & cooling device. I suppose that since I’m the actual person who pays the bills for our HVAC device, I’m the one who gets to make any kind of changes to the temperature control. I suppose that I should be the only person who is able to touch the temperature control! I tell pretty much everybody who lives in my household to keep their hands off of the temperature control altogether, however occasionally my kids make the choice that they’re too tepid or too chilly & they’ll turn the temperature up or down. I am well aware that she’s my mother, although I still don’t want her to fiddle around with the temperature control. Perhaps that makes me a real bad person, however if it does, I don’t even care. I am the only one who needs to modify my temperature control unit settings. If they don’t quit touching it, I’m entirely going to get one of those locking boxes to put over the top of it!
