There is nothing like being home. Traveling is a blast, but to me, it gets old fast. I literally catch myself daydreaming about sitting on my cozy couch in my living room while I’m at work trying to get my job done. The one thing that makes my house feel so cozy and warm is my fireplace. My sweet husband, Todd, had a fireplace installed for me on my fortieth birthday. My whole life I wanted a fireplace, but of the free home I lived in growing up, only one had a fireplace, and we didn’t use it. When my husband and I first got married, we found the house of our dreams and were just ready to close on it when someone offered the seller a lower price and he took the offer. That house had the most beautiful fireplace, and it kept the house so warm and toasty. My husband actually went back to that house and asked the owners if he could take a picture of their fireplace so that he could find and instal one similar to theirs that I loved so much. He did an amazing job finding one, and I honestly like it even more than I liked the one at our “dream house.” I know it’s a lot of work to keep a fireplace going, but I think it’s worth all the work that goes in to it. Although my husband doesn’t quite agree with me, he’s always chopping wood for the fireplace, and I have never once heard him complain. Life is so wonderful, especially when I get to come home to my nice, warm fireplace.
